Scotiabank iTRADE Mobile App

Scotia iTRADE is a state-of-the-art trading and investing app supported by Scotiabank, Canada’s leading international bank.

My Role: UX/UI Designer

During my internship at Scotiabank, I was a integral part of the mobile team to redesign the iTRADE app. I participated in design sprints and worked alongside with developers, business analysts, product owners to make usability fixes and integrate new features into the iTrade app. I created, managed & updated content matrix documents that tracked all visual and functional components of the app. 

One of the first projects I got during my internship was to improve the usability of the Communication Centre in the iTrade app. The wireframes below is the final design that I came up with. The old Communication Centre design was one long page that listed all the notifications the user had. There were two different types of notifications, one was important updates/information about the user's investments and iTrade account, and another was fact sheets about investments that fit their goal. Users were complaining about having to scroll through long lists of messages to find information they were looking for. The two types of notifications led users to very different outcomes, that's why in the final design I separated the notifications into two tabs to differentiate the information.
