Lululemon

I joined lululemon’s UX team to lead the Size and Fit initiative, owning the end-to-end design of all size and fit experiences across the e-commerce site. My role spanned from roadmap planning to crafting North Star concepts, with the goal of improving guest confidence and clarity around sizing.

I collaborated cross-functionally with product manager, UX researchers, data scientists, and engineers to launch impactful features, Including a redesigned size guide with integration of AI-based size recommendations.

Problem space

Through research and testing, I identified 4 key pain points impacting guest confidence in size and fit:

  1. Confusing size information: Guests often found the size recommendations unclear or unreliable, leading to hesitation at checkout.

  2. Inconsistency in sizing: Based on past experiences, many users felt sizing varied too much between products, even within the same category.

  3. Irrelevant size charts: The size guide displayed was not always tailored to the product or user, leading to confusion and friction.

  4. Lack of size representation in models: Limited diversity in model sizing made it difficult for guests to visualize how items would fit on their own body types.

Partnered with a UX Researcher to synthesize qualitative research insights, distill on key research findings, and suggest design recommendations. Conducted competitive audits between lululemon and its competitors in terms of dual gender presence and inclusivity.

Wireframed, designed and UX tested on redesigned concepts of the homepage hero component to include an additional call-to-action highlighting Shop Men’s versus Shop Women’s.

To address the key problems, we reimagined the size guide experience with a user-centered, data-informed approach:

  1. Redesigned Size Guide Interface:
Created a more intuitive, scannable layout with clear hierarchy and mobile-optimized interactions to reduce cognitive load.

  2. Contextual Size Charts:
Implemented logic to display product-specific size charts, ensuring users saw only the most relevant sizing information based on category and gender.

  3. Integrated TrueFit AI Recommendations:
Balanced machine learning predictions with traditional sizing guidance, providing users with personalized recommendations while still giving them control and transparency.

  4. Inseam Selection Testing:
Ran iterative tests around inseam inputs for pants to simplify the experience and improve accuracy, particularly for male shoppers.

  5. Inclusive Size Representation (Concept Phase):
Proposed future-state concepts for showcasing a wider range of model body types across product pages, aiming to improve user trust and relatability.

Developed a strategic roadmap to enhance guest confidence in sizing and fit when shopping at Lululemon.
